Kyoko Church

Kyoko Church discovered the power of the written erotic word when she was 16 years old and penned a very explicit missive to her boyfriend detailing all the naughty things she wanted to do to him. When he received it, boyfriend was impressed. When he found it, father was not. One of the best things about this anthology is the variety. I thought it might be too heavy on the BDSM side but it\'s not. There\'s romance and humour too. Really impressed. A lovely book for long winter nights.

Erotic stories should titillate and stimulate the reader. Power Play stimulates, titillates and much more. It hits all the bases under the BDSM umbrella of domination and submission. This is erotica at its very best! There are 20 extremely well written tales in this anthology and I loved the diversity of the stories.

My absolute favorite in the anthology was \"Split\" by Shanna Germain. This is hard edged eroticism swaddled in a cloak of Greek Mythology. This twist on the Hades/Persephone story was just plain brilliant!

For fun and quirkiness \"Acting Tough\" by Landon Dixon is outstanding. I will never view another detective noir story the same again. The dialogue is vintage film noir and hysterical in sections. The author gives the reader a missing person tale with equal parts sexuality and humor. I\'m smiling right now as I write this. This story is high camp but still wonderfully true to the genre it emulates.

Another favorite of mine in this anthology is \"The Uninitiated Bottom.\" This is a realistic portrayal of a domme experiencing the other side of the domme/sub equation. \"The Best Laid Plans\" - Alex Jordaine, \"Coated\" - Kay Jaybee, \"Counting to Ten\" - Elizabeth Cage, and Alana James\' \"No Reservations\" a wonderful twist on Hitchcock\'s \"Strangers on a Train\") are equally impressive offerings and for me thought provoking. For sensual stories of loving relationships with erotic heat, \"Trust Me\" by Jade Melisande and \"The Next Step\" by Jeanette Grey left me smiling.

For lovers of prose with GLBT heart, Angel Propps\' \"The Initiation of Lily\" was an intense glimpse into a subculture of dominant lesbians that I had to read twice. While \"Waiting in Vein\" by Giselle Renarde was a wonderful reminder that the most important body part for dynamite sex is a controlled and captivated mind. Brava to both authors.

If I said anymore about this anthology, my review would be pages long. I can\'t emphasize enough - straight, lesbian, m/m, hard edged, quirky, humorous, powerfully thought provoking with sensuous and sizzling sex - this anthology is a great combination of eroticism and storytelling that has something for everyone. Power Play has made my keeper shelf.
